Oliver Oakes Leaves Alpine Leadership
In a surprising piece of news for the Formula 1 world, Alpine has announced the resignation of Oliver Oakes as team principal, after only six races in the current season.
Executive advisor, Flavio Briatore, will assume Oakes’ responsibilities with immediate effect.
Oakes, 37, had taken control of the team in July last year.
Tuesday’s announcement comes amid growing rumors about the possible replacement of Jack Doohan by Franco Colapinto, a situation that has generated speculation since the beginning of the season.
