Los Prados Comeback and Defeat San Carlos in Thrilling Match
In an encounter full of emotions, the Los Prados club achieved an impressive comeback to defeat San Carlos with a final score of 85-79. The match, corresponding to the eighth date of the 49 TBS Distrito 2025, kept the fans on the edge of their seats until the last second.
Los Prados, led by the reinforcement BJ Fitzgerald and the native Eddy Mercedes, managed to overcome a disadvantage of up to 22 points. The San Carlos team dominated a large part of the match, but the determination of Los Prados allowed them to change the course of the game.
The Los Prados offensive was primarily driven by BJ Fitzgerald, who scored 29 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, achieving a double-double. Eddy Mercedes also had an outstanding performance, contributing 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Kelvin Ramírez added 9 points and 7 rebounds.
On the San Carlos side, Juan Guerrero was the main figure with 27 points and 14 rebounds. Eddy Polanco contributed 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Anyeuri Castillo added 7 points.
San Carlos dominated the first half of the game, winning the first quarter 27-20 and the second 20-19, for a score of 47-39 at halftime. However, Los Prados reacted in the third quarter, reducing the difference to 67-61.
In the last quarter, Los Prados completed the comeback, surpassing San Carlos with a score of 24-12, securing the 85-79 victory. This win puts Los Prados and San Carlos even with a 2-2 record in group A.
The TBS Distrito 2025 is organized by the National District Basketball Association (Abadina), under the presidency of Colonel (PN) Diego Pesqueira, and the Organizing Committee headed by José Ignacio Paliza, Minister of the Presidency.
This year’s tournament is dedicated to Evaristo Pérez, a figure in Dominican sports and former San Carlos player.
