Kelsey Mitchell Leaves Game with Injury, Fever Falls to Aces

Las Vegas – Indiana Fever star Kelsey Mitchell left Game 5 of the semifinals against the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday due to an injury suffered in the third quarter, missing the rest of the game.

Despite the absence of their star, Indiana fought and forced overtime, but ultimately fell to the Aces with a score of 107-98.

It was not immediately known how Mitchell suffered the injury. After a foul was called on her teammate Aliyah Boston, Mitchell grabbed her leg in apparent discomfort before reaching out to hold onto a referee. She went to the court, where she was attended to by team staff and surrounded by her teammates holding towels to give her privacy.

A stretcher was brought onto the field, but Mitchell didn’t use it, and he left with assistance after approximately five minutes.

According to reports, the area of concern appeared to be the left quadriceps above the knee, and he may also have had some cramping in his right leg.

The Fever did not share an exact diagnosis of the injury, indicating that Mitchell is still being evaluated.

Mitchell has been the Fever’s top scorer this season, averaging 20.2 points per game in the regular season and 23.3 points per game in the playoffs.

Indiana has had five players, including star Caitlin Clark, ruled out for the season due to injuries. Damiris Dantas has also missed the playoffs due to a concussion.
