Suarez Climbs: MMA Strawweight Ranking After UFC Victory

Tatiana Suárez Rises in the UFC Strawweight Rankings

Tatiana Suárez, after her recent performance in the UFC, could be on her way to a new opportunity for the strawweight title. Although she was unsuccessful in her championship fight in February, her recent victory over Amanda Lemos, who was ranked in the top 5, has boosted her position in the division’s rankings. Suárez, who had arrived undefeated to her title fight against Zhang Weili, is now in fourth position in the ranking after her victory at UFC Night. Weili, for her part, defended her title before moving up to flyweight, where she will compete for the belt against Valentina Shevchenko. With the vacant 115-pound title, and awaiting the result of the fight between Virna Jandiroba and Mackenzie Dern, the winner could face Suárez. Suárez’s victory over Lemos in Saturday’s main event allowed her to surpass Lemos in the rankings. The winner of Saturday’s main event, Diego Lopes, remains in the number 3 spot in featherweight. In addition, other changes were made to the rankings due to the inactivity of some fighters. Dan Hooker, Arnold Allen, and Norma Dumont have been removed from the rankings.
