FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Due to the predicted bad weather conditions, the Ryder Cup organizers have decided to move up the opening ceremony by one day, scheduling it for Wednesday at Bethpage Black.
Traditionally, this event takes place on Thursday afternoon, at which time the captains reveal the lineups for the first session on Friday.
The ceremony, presented by Carson Daly, co-host of “Today”, and sports journalist and former Miss America Kira Dixon, will begin at 3 p.m. on Wednesday. The players will make their entrance amid a great celebration. Ticket holders for Thursday will be able to use them on Wednesday.
The pairings for Friday’s opening foursomes session will be announced on Thursday afternoon, as scheduled.
