Charles Oliveira vs. Mateusz Gamrot to Headline UFC Fight Night in Rio de Janeiro
UFC lightweight ex-champion Charles Oliveira will face Mateusz Gamrot in a highly anticipated event next month. The fight will be the main event of UFC Fight Night on October 11 in Rio de Janeiro.
This fight will mark Oliveira’s return to Brazil, his first appearance in the country since March 2020.
Originally, Oliveira was scheduled to face Rafael Fiziev, but Fiziev withdrew last week due to an injury.
Gamrot, with a record of 25-3, has publicly requested to fight Oliveira on short notice.
In his last five appearances, Gamrot has a record of 4-1, with his only loss to Dan Hooker in August 2024. Gamrot has achieved notable victories over Rafael dos Anjos, Fiziev, and Arman Tsarukyan.
Oliveira seeks to recover from a knockout loss against Ilia Topuria in July.
UFC ranks Oliveira and Gamrot as numbers 4 and 8, respectively, in the organization’s lightweight rankings. The UFC Fight Night event will take place at the Farmasi Arena.
