Najee Harris Suffers Season-Ending Injury with the Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers running back Najee Harris suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon that will prevent him from playing the rest of the season, according to coach Jim Harbaugh on Monday. The unfortunate injury occurred during the second quarter of Sunday’s game, in the Chargers’ 23-20 victory over the Denver Broncos.Harris, who signed as a free agent with the Chargers in March, had already had to deal with problems before the start of the season. He missed the entire preseason due to a fireworks accident that damaged an eye. Despite this, Harris was ready for the start of the season and the Chargers had been increasing his workload each week. On Sunday, he seemed on track to have his most carries and his most productive game of the season. He left the game with six carries, leading the team with 28 rushing yards. The durability of Harris, who had never missed a game in his NFL career, was a key factor in the Chargers hiring him. In his first four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, he ran for 1,000 yards in each of them. His physical playing style is something Harbaugh values a lot, and having Harris at the start of the season was considered crucial to the team’s performance in 2025.It’s unfortunate… he was playing very well. Najee will be back, I have no doubt.

The Chargers will face the New York Giants in Week 4.It’s always tough to lose a brother like that. And I think you never want to see that from any of your own players or an opponent, and we wish him the best.
