NFL Free Agency 2026 Begins

The NFL’s free agency officially kicks off on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET, with the start of the new league year. However, teams can begin negotiating and agreeing to terms with players starting Monday at 12 p.m. ET. Before the negotiation period opens, teams can also re-sign their own free agents with extensions. The deadline for franchise/transition tags has already passed, with four players receiving one:
  • George Pickens, WR for the Cowboys
  • Kyle Pitts Sr., TE for the Falcons
  • Breece Hall, RB for the Jets
  • Daniel Jones, QB for the Colts (transition tag)
