The Sharks Correcting an Error on a SAP Center Banner
The San Jose Sharks are in the process of correcting an error on one of the banners recently installed at the SAP Center. This error involves a recognition that the team did not actually earn. With the start of the NHL season, the Sharks updated the banners hanging from the stadium ceiling. The new designs feature a smaller team logo and a larger font. In addition, the team’s six division titles were condensed into a single banner, instead of the six individual ones that previously existed. However, a new banner caught the attention of fans both online and during Sunday’s preseason game against the Vegas Golden Knights. This banner celebrated the Sharks for winning the Presidents’ Trophy in the 2015-16 season, an award given to the team with the best regular season record in the NHL.Sharks President Jonathan Becher stated on Sunday that it was a “printing error” that the team was already aware of. Becher added that the Sharks “have already requested a replacement” for the banner.
