Manchester City player Bernardo Silva has expressed his frustration after the 1-1 draw against Arsenal, pointing out a disadvantage in terms of rest which, according to him, affected his team’s performance. The midfielder accused those responsible for the programming of “not listening” and “lacking common sense and respect”. The match was played just 66 hours after City played their Champions League match against Napoli. On the other hand, Arsenal had two more days of rest to prepare. Silva emphasized that the difference in recovery time was not fair, considering the importance of the match.

The reality is that we cannot arrive at one of the most important matches of the season with such a disadvantage in terms of rest. It’s not fair to play one of these matches like this. It’s simply not right.

Silva also mentioned Khusanov’s injury, arguing that these matches demand a lot physically and that the lack of adequate rest can affect the players’ performance. The Portuguese footballer acknowledged the demands of the schedule and the different competitions, but insisted on the need for common sense, especially in matches of this magnitude.

When you play an Arsenal against City, or a City against Liverpool, or a Liverpool against Arsenal, you need to have a bit of common sense and understanding of these situations, and in such an important game, the players need to be in the same physical conditions, otherwise I don’t think it’s fair.
