Emeka Egbuka Active for Buccaneers Game Despite Ailment

Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie receiver Emeka Egbuka will be on the field this Sunday against the New York Jets, despite being listed as questionable due to hip and groin issues.

Sources indicate that Egbuka’s playing time is expected to be monitored and potentially limited.

Egbuka, selected in the 19th draft position and currently tied at the top of the league with three touchdown receptions in two games, missed two days of practice this week. Although he returned on Friday, his participation was restricted, according to Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles.

In the event that Egbuka is unable to play, the Buccaneers could give more opportunities to Ryan Miller, who scored the first touchdown on Monday night in Houston, as well as Sterling Shepard, rookie Tez Johnson, and Kameron Johnson, who had a 54-yard punt return against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1.

The Buccaneers have started with a 2-0 record in the last three seasons, but they haven’t achieved a 3-0 start since 2005.
