Iga Świątek Conquers Korea Open: Comeback and Wins an Exciting Duel

SEOUL, South Korea – Top seed Iga Świątek rallied from a poor first set to beat second seed Ekaterina Alexandrova 1-6, 7-6 (3), 7-5 to win the Korea Open on Sunday.

Swiatek, who is a prominent tennis player, conceded her serve five times. Furthermore, she was surpassed 6-2 in aces and committed nine double faults. Even so, she won fewer points than Alexandrova in a close match at the Seoul Olympic Park Tennis Center that lasted nearly three hours.

This triumph represents the third title of the year and the 25th overall for the six-time Grand Slam champion. The 24-year-old Polish tennis player was crowned champion of the Cincinnati Open last month and won her first Wimbledon title in July. With this victory, her WTA finals record rises to 25-5.
