Bryan Woo Exits Game After Dominating Astros
Seattle Mariners right-handed pitcher Bryan Woo was forced to leave Friday night’s game against the Houston Astros after throwing a couple of warm-up pitches in the sixth inning.
Woo had a dominant performance through five innings, not allowing any runs, giving up only one hit and one walk, while striking out seven batters. The game was the first of a crucial series between the American League West Division rivals, who began the night tied at the top of the division.
The pitcher threw 67 pitches and lowered his ERA to 2.94. Woo retired the first 10 batters before Carlos Correa hit a double with one out in the fourth inning.
Shortly after Woo began to warm up on the mound for the sixth inning, a team coach and several trainers came out to the field. After a brief conversation, Woo left the game, being replaced by Eduard Bazardo.
So far, Woo has a 14-7 record for the season, with 198 strikeouts.
