Dennis Smith Jr. Returns to Dallas Mavericks on a One-Year Contract

Point guard Dennis Smith Jr. has agreed to sign a one-year contract with the Dallas Mavericks, according to his agent, Daniel Hazan of Hazan Sports Management.

Smith will reunite with the team that selected him with the 9th pick in the 2017 NBA draft. Now, the player will seek to secure a spot on the team during training camp in Dallas.

Currently, the Mavericks have their full roster, although guard Brandon Williams has a partially guaranteed contract.

Smith played his first season and a half with the Mavericks before being traded to the New York Knicks as part of the deal that sent Kristaps Porzingis to Dallas.

Smith, 27, has averaged 9.7 points, 4.2 assists, and 3 rebounds in 326 games during his seven NBA seasons.
