Hearn threatens legal action following accusations from Eubank Jr.

Eddie Hearn demands a public apology from Chris Eubank Jr. or will take legal action, following accusations that Hearn ordered the delay of the ambulance’s departure for Eubank Jr. after his fight with Conor Benn in April. Eubank Jr. was taken to the hospital with severe dehydration, after defeating Benn by unanimous decision in London. In August, the rematch was confirmed for November 15, again at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

In the pre-fight press conference on Wednesday, Eubank Jr. made a series of accusations against Hearn, including ordering the ambulance he was traveling in to be delayed in leaving the stadium.

I’m in this ambulance, [they] blocked that ambulance from leaving the stadium for 20 minutes. I’m lying there… with an oxygen mask and the car can’t move. They won’t open the doors to let us out.

If I had suffered a serious injury, those 20 minutes of confinement could have made the difference between life and death.

Hearn urged Eubank Jr. to confirm who he was referring to, saying: “Can you confirm that you are accusing us… Matchroom?” Eubank Jr. responded: “Yes. You prevented me from leaving. Who else would it have been?” Hearn strongly denied the accusation and said he will consider legal action if Eubank Jr. does not apologize.
