Charley Hull Crowned Champion at the Kroger Queen City Championship

In a dramatic final round, Charley Hull claimed victory at the Kroger Queen City Championship, capitalizing on an unexpected collapse by world number one Jeeno Thitikul on the final hole. Thitikul, who led by one stroke after Hull’s bogey on the 17th hole, suffered an unusual ‘four-putt’ on the par 5 of the 18th hole, from a distance of approximately 50 feet. The Thai player missed a 5-foot putt and another 3-foot putt, allowing Hull to secure the victory.

I wasn’t really watching his birdie putt because I thought he was going to make it. I guess it ain’t over till the fat lady sings, but I was shaking on that last putt because I wasn’t expecting it.

Hull closed the tournament with a score of 68 strokes, four under par, for a total of 20 under par (268 strokes) at TPC River’s Bend. This victory represents the third LPGA Tour title for the 29-year-old English player and the first since 2022. Hull also has four victories on the Ladies European Tour. Thitikul tied Hull with a round of 68 strokes. The Thai star, winner in May at Liberty National, New Jersey, missed the opportunity to become the first player with multiple wins on the tour this season. Lottie Woad of England finished in third place with 18 under par, after a round of 66 strokes. Miyu Yamashita (69 strokes) finished at 17 under par, followed by the world number two, Nelly Korda (70 strokes) with 15 under par, along with Nasa Hataoka (65), Chisato Iwai (71), Sei Young Kim (69), Jennifer Kupcho (67), Mary Liu (70) and Maja Stark (69). Hull arrived at this tournament after a second place in Houston last week, as part of the Aramco series of the European tour.
