Anthony Martial Joins Monterrey: A New Chapter in His Career
French forward Anthony Martial has finalized his arrival at the Mexican club Monterrey, coming from AEK Athens. This was confirmed by the Aztec institution this Friday, marking an important milestone in the player’s career.
Martial, 29 years old, has signed a contract that ties him to Monterrey until 2027, with the option to extend it for an additional year. He becomes the first French footballer in the club’s history.
The attacker, with a past in the French national team, arrives in Monterrey after his time at AEK Athens. During his time at Manchester United, Martial scored 90 goals in 317 matches, affected by frequent injuries and a loan to Sevilla in 2022. Last summer, he joined AEK Athens, where he scored nine goals in 24 appearances.
Now, Martial joins a Monterrey that currently leads the Apertura table of the Liga MX, accumulating 18 points in seven matchdays.
