Mackenzie Hughes leads the Procore Championship with an impressive 63

Canadian golfer Mackenzie Hughes had an outstanding performance at the Procore Championship, achieving an impressive round of 9 under par, with a score of 63. While Hughes shone, eyes also focused on the American Ryder Cup team, led by Scottie Scheffler, who had mixed results. Ben Griffin, a Ryder Cup rookie, initially didn’t stand out, but a streak of five birdies on the back nine earned him a 64, one stroke behind Hughes. Matt McCarty and Russell Henley also had good performances, with scores of 64 and 65 respectively. Scheffler, who hadn’t finished below eighth place since March, saw his streak of 21 consecutive rounds in the 60s interrupted, finishing with a 70. Ten Ryder Cup players are participating in the tournament, looking to stay in shape for the event at Bethpage Black. Henley shot a 65, while J.J. Spaun signed for a 67.

I think it was a little different today, knowing that we were all in the same time zone and spent a lot of time together this week, it definitely feels a little different than if this tournament was in March. The Ryder Cup is just around the corner.

Sam Burns signed a 71, while other Ryder Cup players such as Justin Thomas, Cameron Young, Patrick Cantlay, Harris English and Collin Morikawa, all finished with a 72.
