Kyle Tucker to the injured list with calf injury
The Chicago Cubs have placed All-Star right fielder Kyle Tucker on the 10-day injured list due to a left calf strain.
The measure is retroactive to Saturday.
Tucker last played for Chicago on September 2, where he hit a three-run home run against the Atlanta Braves, then left the game due to a calf strain. The player later indicated that the calf had been bothering him for a few days.
Seiya Suzuki has been playing in right field in Tucker’s absence for Chicago, which entered Tuesday 7.5 games behind the Milwaukee Brewers, leaders in the NL Central, but at the top of the wild card standings by five games.
Tucker is batting .270 with 22 home runs and 73 RBIs.
Catcher Moises Ballesteros was called up from Triple-A in the corresponding roster move.
