George Kittle Suffers Injury in Game Against the Seahawks

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle will not return for the season opener against the Seattle Seahawks due to a hamstring injury suffered in the second quarter.

The injury occurred with 10:06 remaining in the second quarter. Kittle ran a route down the right sideline while quarterback Brock Purdy was sacked by Seattle safety Julian Love. Kittle limped slowly toward the 49ers’ bench and immediately entered the injury tent.

Upon exiting the tent, Kittle was wearing a baseball cap and holding his helmet, before being officially ruled out with about two minutes remaining in the first half.

Before the injury, Kittle had achieved four receptions for 25 yards, including a 5-yard touchdown that gave San Francisco a 7-0 lead.

Kittle missed two games in 2024 due to hamstring injuries.

The other available tight ends for San Francisco are Luke Farrell and Jake Tonges.
