Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino expressed his surprise upon learning of the departure of Daniel Levy, who was the club’s executive chairman for almost 25 years. Pochettino, who managed the Premier League team for five years, taking the club to a Champions League final, expressed his impact at the sudden change.

Pochettino, currently the coach of the United States men’s national team, revealed that he sent messages to Levy and people close to him, expressing his best wishes and highlighting the good relationship they always maintained. During his time at Tottenham, Pochettino achieved significant results, including finishing in the top four in four consecutive seasons. He built a prominent team, with players like Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min, and Dele Alli. Despite his achievements, Pochettino couldn’t secure major titles with Tottenham, losing two finals during his tenure. He was dismissed in November 2019, after the defeat in the Champions League final against Liverpool. After his time at Tottenham, Pochettino managed Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and is currently the United States national team. The new Tottenham coach is Thomas Frank. In a statement about his departure, Levy stated: “I am incredibly proud of the work I have done alongside the executive team and all our employees. We have turned this club into a global heavyweight that competes at the highest level.”
