Jalen Carter Ejected in Game Against the Cowboys
In an unexpected turn of events, Eagles’ star defensive tackle Jalen Carter was ejected from Thursday night’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, before the ball was even put into play.
The situation unfolded after the initial kickoff, when a pause occurred due to an injury to Eagles fullback Ben VanSumeren, who remained on the ground for several minutes. During this time, Carter and Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott faced off.
The cameras captured the moment Carter apparently spat at Prescott as the two players were separated.
Carter, 24, is recognized as one of the most outstanding defensive tackles in the league. Last season, he contributed 4.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss, being key in the defense that led the NFL.
After the ejection, the Cowboys quickly advanced down the field and scored a touchdown on their first six-play offensive series, culminating in a one-yard touchdown run by Javonte Williams.
