India Defines its Lineup for the Adelaide Test
Wriddhiman Saha, R Ashwin, and Prithvi Shaw will represent India in the next Adelaide Test. Umesh Yadav completes the trio of fast bowlers. The main questions for India before the Test included Shaw’s continuity, the inclusion of a spinner with Ashwin, and the choice of wicketkeeper. Shaw, although under pressure, was selected as the opener. Despite an irregular performance in the practice matches, India opted for continuity.
As for the wicketkeeper, India opted for Saha, preferring him to Pant. The team management seems to have decided that the pink ball will require a more established wicketkeeper. Yadav was the front-runner to be the third fast bowler, replacing the injured Ishant Sharma. He has Test experience and a good performance in the practice match.
