Sergio Ramos Releases Song Dedicated to Real Madrid

The renowned Spanish central defender, Sergio Ramos, has surprised his followers with the release of his new musical theme, “Cibeles”, a reggaeton song that addresses his departure from Real Madrid in 2021.

I would kill for you, I loved you and defended you, but it wasn’t in me, you asked me to fly. I dressed up for the occasion, I gave you blood and sweat… I put a crown on you, you gave me wings. I didn’t know they were just to push me away.

The audiovisual production includes images of iconic moments of Ramos with Real Madrid, such as the goal he scored in the 93rd minute of the 2014 Champions League final against Atlético de Madrid. In the lyrics, Ramos expresses his feelings about leaving the team.

A match lasts 90 minutes and I gave you 93 more than you deserved. I never got tired of trying, this story was a legend. I prefer to die on my feet than to live ‘on my knees’… I hope you do well, although I feel bad without you. Luckily I left, because you didn’t treat me the same. You loved me and I loved you, but someone always gives more.

The video culminates with the figure of the goddess Cybele crumbling, while Ramos sings. The footballer, currently with Monterrey alongside his compatriot Sergio Canales, is a prominent figure in Mexican football.
