Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Sacked by Besiktas After European Elimination
Besiktas has sacked coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, following the defeat in the UEFA Conference League qualifying round against Lausanne. The Turkish team fell defeated at home by 1-0 against Lausanne, owned by INEOS, on Thursday night. Forward Nathan Butler-Oyedeji scored the only goal in added time of the first half. Besiktas suffered the expulsion of Felix Uduokhai at the beginning of the second half, which meant a 2-1 aggregate victory for Lausanne.
Solskjaer took over the position at the Super Lig club in January, his first coaching role since leaving Manchester United in November 2021. He led the team to fourth place at the end of last season.After being eliminated from the UEFA Conference League tonight, the Beşiktaş Board of Directors held an emergency meeting and decided to part ways with coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
