In an exciting final of the LIV Golf League, Jon Rahm and Legion XIII defeated Bryson DeChambeau and the Crushers in a playoff on Sunday. The event took place at The Cardinal at Saint John’s, where the tension and competition were palpable. Legion XIII managed to tie the Crushers with a score of 20 under par, while the Stinger team from South Africa fell behind with 12 under par in this final that featured three teams. Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton showcased their skill by securing birdies on the final two holes of the regular round. The playoff extended to the second extra hole, where both players achieved decisive birdies, surpassing DeChambeau and Paul Casey.

Tyrrell and I activated a little late, but better late than never. When the playoff arrived, I felt pretty sure that we are both very good wedge players, and if we simply put it in the fairway, I was pretty sure we were going to give ourselves a lot of opportunities.

Jon Rahm
Caleb Surratt, former Tennessee player, led Legion XIII with a remarkable round of 64.

It’s been an incredible experience. I’m grateful to Jon for trusting me enough to have me on his team last year, and I’m very proud of the player I’ve become.

Rahm and Tom McKibbin contributed rounds of 65, while Hatton signed a 66. Rahm highlighted the importance of his younger teammates.

Neither Tyrrell nor I had a great day today, and even throughout the week, I don’t think we played our best golf. But the youngsters were a kind of beacon of strength, playing well and there today as well. They took us all the way.

Jon Rahm
DeChambeau shone with a round of 62, impressing Rahm.

He played incredible golf. He played incredibly. His driver was on an absolute roll and he had the putter working.
