Diamondbacks Late to Milwaukee Due to Mechanical Issues

MILWAUKEE – The Arizona Diamondbacks experienced a significant delay in their trip to Milwaukee, arriving at their destination around 4 a.m. CDT on Monday. This setback, which preceded their four-game series against the Brewers, was the result of mechanical issues with their plane. Manager Torey Lovullo reported that the cause of the delay was problems with the brakes of the plane that was supposed to transport the team from Arizona to Milwaukee. “We had to find another plane,” Lovullo explained. “It took about five hours to find another plane available for us.” Lovullo arrived at his hotel room around 4:30 a.m., approximately 14 hours before the start of Monday night’s game. The manager praised the team’s travel director, Roger Riley, for keeping the team informed during the wait. The delay occurred after the Diamondbacks lost 6-1 to the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday. During the wait, the team found various ways to pass the time. Reliever John Curtiss recently released an album of original songs, and Lovullo commented that the Diamondbacks listened to the entire album.

We were chatting, doing things a team would do if there was a rain delay or a delay on the plane. We definitely took advantage of the situation.
