Harry Kane and Luis Díaz: Instant Connection in Bayern Munich’s Victory

Star striker Harry Kane praised the “instant connection” he feels with Luis Díaz, following the new signing’s outstanding performance in Bayern Munich’s resounding 6-0 victory over RB Leipzig. Kane, author of three goals, described his understanding with Diaz as something that has developed rapidly. The Colombian winger, who also scored a goal, assisted in two of Kane’s three goals. This triumph marked the beginning of Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga title defense at the Allianz Arena, with Kane achieving his sixteenth hat-trick in the league and the eighth with the Bavarian club.

“Lucho, you know, it’s only been a few weeks, but I feel like we have an instant connection. Today he gave me a couple of assists and scored a very good goal,” Kane declared about Díaz.

Michael Olise, playing on the other wing, also had an outstanding performance, scoring two goals in the first 45 minutes. Bayern Munich started the season without Thomas Müller, who left the team. Kane commented on the growing connection with Olise: “I’ve had a year with Michael and I feel that the relationship is getting stronger. In the first part, he was outstanding, the goals he scored. So it’s great for them, great for confidence. It’s a whole team that is working and it was a great performance.”

Kane highlighted the importance of the victory: “We wanted to make a statement and that’s exactly what we did. Leipzig is a good team, but today we were above in all areas and we were clinical when necessary, so we can enjoy this.” Olise opened the scoring in the 27th minute, and Díaz thrilled the home fans five minutes later with a great goal in his Bundesliga debut, after a play involving Kane and Serge Gnabry. Gnabry assisted Díaz with a backheel. Olise scored his second goal two minutes later, thanks to Gnabry’s assist, who beat two Leipzig defenders to assist the French winger. Olise played in a central position due to Jamal Musiala’s injury absence. Leipzig improved after the break, but Kane made his presence known on the scoreboard with the fourth goal in the 64th minute, after receiving a pass from Díaz. The English captain scored his second goal in the 74th minute, again assisted by Díaz, and completed his first hat-trick of the season four minutes later.
