A concerning incident shook the Kansas City Chiefs’ training facilities last year, according to recent reports. A bullet struck coach Andy Reid’s office while he was working alone at the location. The incident, which took place on the night of May 4, 2024, did not cause physical harm to the coach, confirmed Kansas City police spokesman Captain Jake Becchina.According to the report, the shot came from outside the premises and went through the glass of Reid’s office, embedding itself in a wall about 15 feet away from where the coach was.Sources indicated that Reid, 67, now has bulletproof glass in his office for added security. In total, three shots hit the three-story building that night, one on the third floor, another above Reid’s office, and the third on an air conditioning unit. Fortunately, no other person was injured.
So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the case, which is being treated as aggravated assault because the building was occupied at the time of the shooting. The Chiefs have not issued comments about the incident.Andy Reid is scheduled to speak with reporters after Kansas City’s final preseason game against the Chicago Bears.“There is no indication that this was an incident directed at any person or organization.”
