New Orleans Saints: Quarterback Decision Pending
METAIRIE, La. – The New Orleans Saints are keeping the intrigue about who will be their starting quarterback, a decision that will be made until the last moment. Even without announcing the starting quarterback in the last week of training, the Saints are the last team to define this position. Coach Kellen Moore indicated that they will take advantage of this week to make a final decision.Moore explained that the competition between Tyler Shough and Spencer Rattler has been very close, and they want to maintain it until the end of the week. It’s very, very close: numbers, experiences, repetitions, everything. Everything is very close between them. We’ll see how it all unfolds. In the first two preseason games, Rattler completed 71.4% of his passes, with 252 yards, a touchdown and an interception, in addition to having been sacked three times. Shough, for his part, completed 70.6% of his passes, adding 231 yards, a touchdown and an interception, with four sacks. When asked about the deadline for making the decision, Moore joked that the Saints will play against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, September 7, so the decision will be made “hopefully before that”.We have three days of practice and a game, so we have excellent work ahead of us.

Moore added that the team has not yet been notified of any decision.I think they’re both making a tremendous effort, tremendous work. They’re both doing a lot of good things, so we’ll see how it goes.

We haven’t named anyone. Once we make the decision, they will know, and you will know. We are not hiding anything, don’t worry.
