SANTO DOMINGO – August 17, 2025. Dominican baseball celebrates a new milestone with the debut of Samuel Basallo, who becomes the 955th player from the Dominican Republic to reach the Major Leagues and the 17th to debut this season.

The Baltimore Orioles prospect hit his first hit in MLB against the pitches of his compatriot Enyel de los Santos in the eighth inning of the game against the Houston Astros, where he also drove in two runs.
