Marcus Semien, out of Rangers lineup due to injury

Texas Rangers infielder Marcus Semien was not in the starting lineup for Saturday’s game against Toronto due to a left wrist issue.

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy reported that Semien would undergo X-rays to assess the situation.

Semien was hit by a 91 mph fastball from Toronto pitcher Chris Bassitt in the second inning of Friday’s 6-5 loss. Despite this, he remained in the game and hit a two-run home run against Louis Varland in the eighth inning.

Semien had participated in 122 of the first 123 Texas games. The last time the three-time All-Star didn’t play was April 13 in Seattle.

Ezequiel Duran was the one who played second base for the Rangers on Saturday.
