Red Bull Expands its Sporting Empire: Acquires the Newcastle Red Bulls

The energy drink giant, Red Bull, continues to expand its presence in the world of sports. Recently, the company acquired full ownership of the first division rugby team, the Newcastle Falcons. The club has been renamed Newcastle Red Bulls, a change that will take effect before the start of the new season next month. This move reflects the innovative approach that Red Bull has implemented in its global sports initiatives. Red Bull already owns stakes in several soccer teams, including RB Leipzig, RB Salzburg, and Leeds. In addition, they also have a team in Formula 1. Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp recently took on the role of Red Bull’s global head of football. The Newcastle Red Bulls have won five major titles throughout their history, including the league championship in 1998. Their last trophy was the national cup in 2004.

“Together, we aim to elevate rugby to new heights and provide unforgettable moments for our fans,” stated Oliver Mintzlaff, CEO of Red Bull in corporate projects and investments.
