Josh Hader, Astros closer, reports shoulder discomfort

Houston – Houston Astros All-Star closer Josh Hader was unavailable for Monday night’s game due to shoulder discomfort. After the 7-6 victory over the Red Sox, manager Joe Espada reported that the left-handed pitcher “simply didn’t feel well” after a workout on Monday. The Astros sent Hader for medical tests.

We are waiting for the results and should have more information tomorrow.

Espada did not specify which shoulder was bothering Hader. In his second season in Houston, Hader has a 6-2 record with a 2.05 ERA and is tied for third in the Major Leagues with 28 saves in 48 appearances this season.
