Hunter Greene returns to the Cincinnati Reds’ rotation this Wednesday.
The right-handed pitcher is back after being out since June 4 due to a right groin strain. This same injury kept him out for two weeks in May.
Greene has a 4-3 record with a 2.72 ERA in 11 starts this season. The 26-year-old was selected for the All-Star Game last year for the first time.
In three rehabilitation starts for Triple-A Louisville, Greene allowed 11 runs in 11 innings.
Cincinnati, with a record of 61-57, was 2.5 games behind the New York Mets for the third wild card spot in the National League on Sunday.
