Breanna Stewart Recovers from Injury and Eyes Return

New York Liberty star Breanna Stewart is in the process of recovering after suffering a bone bruise in her right knee at the end of last month. The player hopes to return to the court before the end of August. The injury occurred on July 26, when Stewart felt something in her knee and aggravated it during a game against the Los Angeles Sparks.

I feel great. I just finished training on the court. And it’s really about giving my leg, the bone, some time while we have it. But I hope to be back as soon as possible and I really want to be back with my team.

The two-time WNBA MVP has been working on her rehabilitation, and Liberty coach Sandy Brondello believes her star could return to play in late August. Stewart has expressed his desire to return before his birthday, August 27th. The seven-time All-Star averages 18.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game. She will miss four games against the Minnesota Lynx, in what will be a rematch of the WNBA Finals, with the two teams facing each other four times in a three-week span.

I hate this, but I’ll be on the bench.
