Keegan Bradley Reveals Key Strategy for the 2025 Ryder Cup

The American Ryder Cup captain, Keegan Bradley, has revealed important details about the team’s preparation for the match against Europe in September 2025 at Bethpage Black. Bradley, in statements to Sports Illustrated, indicated that several players on the American team plan to participate in an Autumn Series event to hone their game before the tournament. This decision is particularly relevant following the defeat of the American team against Europe in 2023, with a score of 16.5 to 11.5. The preparation of the American team for the 2023 Ryder Cup was the subject of debate, as most of the players did not compete between the Tour Championship and the Ryder Cup, a period of more than four weeks. In contrast, the twelve European players kept in shape by competing in the BMW PGA Championship two weeks before the Ryder Cup.

Nobody is obligated to go. The guys feel this is the best way to be ready to play at their highest level at Bethpage.

Bradley expects players to participate in the Procore Championship in Napa, California, starting September 11, two weeks before the Ryder Cup on Long Island. Bradley, currently ranked number 10 in the world, also plans to participate if selected for the team. His outstanding season, crowned with a victory at the Travelers in June, puts him in a favorable position in the Ryder Cup standings. The top six players in the standings will automatically qualify for the U.S. team, and Bradley will select another six as captain on August 27.
