Napheesa Collier Out with Ankle Injury

Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier will be out for at least two weeks due to a right ankle sprain, according to sources close to the team. Collier underwent imaging tests on Sunday and Monday, which revealed that she did not suffer a serious injury. The team announced in a statement that the player suffered the sprain and will be reevaluated in the coming weeks. The injury occurred in the third quarter of the game against the Las Vegas Aces, in which the Lynx obtained a resounding victory by 111-58. Collier tried to grab an offensive rebound and fell awkwardly, remaining on the floor for several minutes before being helped off the court.

Obviously, you don’t want to see anyone get injured, especially your MVP. We wish her the best and want her to be healthy.

Kayla McBride, teammate
Collier, who is a strong MVP candidate, averages 23.8 points and 7.7 rebounds, leading the league in scoring. The injury occurs while the Lynx maintain a significant lead in the standings.
