Salvon Ahmed Suffers Serious Injury During Colts Practice

WESTFIELD, Ind. – Indianapolis Colts backup running back Salvon Ahmed suffered a serious injury to his right leg during Sunday’s practice.

The incident occurred near the end of the training session. Coach Shane Steichen expressed his thoughts and prayers for Ahmed.

Ahmed, a five-year veteran who was on the Colts’ practice squad last season, was injured after a tackle by Trey Washington in the end zone. The player let out loud screams as his teammates knelt on the field.

Subsequently, the players gathered around Ahmed as he was placed on a stretcher.

The Colts briefly stopped practice for a meeting before completing the final period of the day.

The injury occurred on the second day of training for linebacker Zaire Franklin, who led the NFL in tackles last season and is recovering from offseason ankle surgery.
