India Defines its Lineup for the Adelaide Test

Wriddhiman Saha, R Ashwin, and Prithvi Shaw have been selected to represent India in the next Test in Adelaide. Umesh Yadav completes the trio of fast bowlers. The main questions India had to resolve before the Test included Shaw’s continuity, the inclusion of a spinner, and the choice of wicketkeeper. Shaw, who has been under pressure, was chosen ahead of Shubman Gill, who performed better in the practice matches. However, Shaw, as a starting opener, demonstrated his destructive potential in one of his four innings in New Zealand.

Regarding the wicketkeeper, India opted for Saha instead of Pant, prioritizing his skills in the position. The team considered that the pink ball would demand a more experienced wicketkeeper. Yadav was selected as the third fast bowler, replacing the injured Ishant Sharma, thanks to his experience and good performance in the practice match.India’s Lineup: 1. Mayank Agarwal, 2.
