Denzel Perryman, Chargers linebacker, arrested on weapons charges

Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman was arrested Friday night on a weapons charge, according to public records. Perryman, 32 years old, was arrested at 9:41 p.m. and booked at 10:06 p.m. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department issued a statement regarding the incident.

“On August 1, 2025, at 9:30 p.m., agents from the South Los Angeles station detained Los Angeles Chargers football player Denzel Perryman for violations of the vehicle code,” they indicated. “During the detention, the agents discovered five firearms in Mr. Perryman’s vehicle, two of which were assault rifles. He was arrested and booked on weapons possession charges and cooperated with the agents.”

Perryman is being held without bail at the South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station and is scheduled to appear in Inglewood Court on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. This is Perryman’s second stint with the Chargers, after rejoining the team before the 2024 season. He is expected to start and play a significant role in the Chargers’ interior linebacker group this season. Perryman’s agent, Ron Butler, stated that they are gathering information and working with legal counsel. The Chargers issued a statement saying they were gathering more information.
