Novak Djokovic Invests in French Football

Tennis star Novak Djokovic joins a group of investors who have acquired a stake in the French football club Le Mans, which competes in the second division. The announcement was made by the club itself, which also revealed the participation of former Formula 1 drivers, Felipe Massa and Kevin Magnussen, in this new investment phase. Le Mans announced that these new investors join others already existing, including the Latin American sports investment firm OutField and Georgios Frangulis, founder and CEO of OakBerry. Frangulis is the partner of Aryna Sabalenka, three-time Grand Slam champion in women’s tennis.

The uniqueness of this fund also lies in its contribution of high-level athletes. Novak Djokovic, Felipe Massa, and Kevin Magnussen will be part of the adventure.

Djokovic, holder of the record of 24 Grand Slam titles in men’s tennis, has an impressive record of 100 titles throughout his career. Massa, for his part, achieved 11 victories and 41 podium finishes in his F1 career. The Brazilian driver was close to winning the 2008 title with Ferrari, but Lewis Hamilton surpassed him in the last race. Magnussen, at 32 years old, participated in almost 200 F1 races, achieving a podium finish and a pole position. The Danish driver was not renewed by Haas at the end of his contract last year. The Le Mans football club, celebrating its 40th anniversary, will start its league season on August 9th. The city of Le Mans, located in the northwest of France, is also known for being the venue of the famous 24-hour endurance race.
