Morgan Gibbs-White Signs New Contract with Nottingham Forest

Midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White has sealed his long-term commitment to Nottingham Forest by signing a new three-year contract. The news comes after speculation about a possible transfer to Tottenham Hotspur.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Tottenham were willing to activate Gibbs-White’s release clause, valued at 60 million pounds, with a medical examination scheduled to finalize the deal. However, the transfer was halted, and Forest prepared to report Tottenham to the Premier League for their approach to the midfielder.

The international English player will now remain at the City Ground, with Forest confirming in a statement that the 24-year-old has “underlined his long-term commitment to the Club by agreeing to new terms.”

Morgan is a special player, not only in terms of talent, but also in terms of character and mentality. He represents everything we want this football club to be: he is a winner, talented, ambitious, fearless and proud.

Evangelos Marinakis, owner of Forest
The owner of Forest, Evangelos Marinakis, expressed his satisfaction with the renewal. “There was significant interest from several clubs, but we were determined to build our future with Morgan at the center. I promised our fans that we would not only compete, but that we would get stronger every season. Today is another big step on that journey.” The Forest were competing for an unexpected place in the Champions League for much of last season, before eventually finishing in seventh place. Gibbs-White played an important role in their impressive campaign, with seven goals and 10 assists in 34 Premier League appearances.

I’ve felt at home at Forest from the moment I arrived. The support from the fans, my teammates, and everyone around the club has been incredible. I believe in what we are building here, and with the backing of Mr. Marinakis and the huge ambition he has, I want to be part of making something special. I’m excited about what’s to come.

The Forest’s seventh place earned them a spot in the Conference League, however, it now seems they will play in the Europa League, after UEFA took the place away from Crystal Palace due to multi-club ownership rules. The Palace has appealed the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, with a decision expected on or before August 11.
