Amorim Opens Manchester United’s Doors to Marginalized Players

Ruben Amorim, Manchester United’s coach, has extended an invitation to the team’s marginalized players, including Alejandro Garnacho, to return to the team. This, in case the club does not receive adequate offers for them. Garnacho, along with Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia, were not included in the summer tour of the United States. Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford has been loaned to Barcelona. Amorim revealed that he will work with the excluded players again if transfers are not finalized before the deadline.

There are different reasons for players. Some need to find a new place to have more space in the team.

The coach explained that some players are looking for new challenges and teams. If the transfers are not finalized, they will rejoin the team. Amorim added that the club has a set price for these players and, if it is not met, they will remain part of Manchester United. The coach was optimistic and ready to receive the players, highlighting the internal competition that this would generate and the possibility that the players could have more opportunities to play. Amorim has been preparing his players in Chicago this week before the first match of the tour against West Ham in New Jersey on Saturday. The team has been reinforced with the arrival of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, who have traveled with the team to the United States. The club is still looking for a striker and has been linked with Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa. However, Amorim does not guarantee the arrival of a new ‘9’ and is satisfied with the current squad.

If we have to start the season with this squad, I am happy. All the players who are here want to be here.

The focus is on improving the connection between Josh Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund. Amorim highlights the importance of Cunha and Mbeumo choosing to stay at the club despite having other options, including Champions League options.
