Josh Sargent, forward for the United States national team, is set to sign for Wolfsburg of the Bundesliga in a deal exceeding 21 million euros ($24.4 million), according to a source.
Sargent, 25, has excelled at Norwich City, but is ready to return to Germany. He joined Norwich from Werder Bremen in 2021 and has since scored 46 goals in 124 league games for the Championship side.
He was in the 2021-22 season of Norwich in the Premier League and has spent the last three campaigns in the English second division, where he was Norwich’s top scorer in both the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.
Sargent has five goals in 28 appearances for the United States national team and hopes to play a prominent role in the 2026 World Cup.
Wolfsburg has already signed defensive midfielder Vini Souza from Sheffield United this summer, while Norwich has seen Jonathan Rowe join Marseille and Borja Sainz move to Porto.
