Tyler Shough Secures Million-Dollar Contract with the Saints

Quarterback Tyler Shough has reached an agreement with the New Orleans Saints for a fully guaranteed contract worth $10.795 million, according to his agent, Erik Burkhardt.

This agreement comes just days before the start of the Saints’ training camp. The team, under the direction of new head coach Kellen Moore, will kick off camp on Wednesday at the team’s facilities in Metairie, Louisiana.

Shough is expected to compete for the starting quarterback position with Spencer Rattler, who is in his second year. Shough was selected with the number 40 pick in the 2025 NFL draft, coming from Louisville.

Shough is the last draft pick to receive a fully guaranteed deal, following a series of deals for second-round picks in recent days.

This contract makes Shough the first second-round player for the Saints to get a fully guaranteed contract. Previously, the Saints guaranteed the first three years of the contract for Kool-Aid McKinstry, selected in the second round with the number 41 pick.

Shough’s agreement with New Orleans also includes an annual bonus structure, something that no other undrafted player has, receiving most of his compensation each year during the first week of training camp.

With this agreement, the Saints have reached an agreement with the nine draft picks of 2025.
