LNB Semifinals Underway!
The Dominican Republic’s National Basketball League (LNB) is preparing for the most exciting stage of the season: the semifinals. This weekend, the action on the court will intensify with duels that promise to keep fans on the edge of their seats.
The first match, corresponding to Semifinal B, is scheduled for Saturday, July 19. The Leones de Santo Domingo (13-11) will visit the Titanes del Distrito Nacional (14-10) at the San Cristóbal Sports Center. The match will start at 8:00 p.m. In the regular season, the Titanes dominated the particular series with a score of 3-1 and a differential of +24.
This duel promises to be a clash of titans, with Jassel Pérez, Richard Bautista and Luis David Montero leading the Titans. The Lions, for their part, will have Gerardo Suero, Trahson Burrell and Eloy Vargas as their main offensive weapons.
The Semifinal A will begin on Sunday, July 20th at 6:00 PM, with the Metros de Santiago (15-9) receiving the Indios de San Francisco de Macorís (13-11) at the Oscar Gobaira Arena. In their previous encounters, both teams split victories (2-2), although the Metros had an advantage in the point differential of +6.
The Metros will have the reinforcement of Norris Cole, joining Juan Guerrero, Jhery Matos and Omar Silverio, and possibly Víctor Liz. The Indios will have Juan Miguel Suero, Luismal Ferreiras and Ramón Galloway as their key figures.
The Semifinal B schedule includes games 2 and 3 for Tuesday the 22nd at the Mauricio Báez and Thursday the 24th again in San Cristóbal. Possible games 4 and 5 will be played on Saturday the 26th and Tuesday the 29th, respectively.
In Semifinal A, game 2 will be played on Wednesday 23rd at the Mario Ortega Pavilion, the third on Friday 25th in Santiago, and games 4 and 5, if necessary, are scheduled for Sunday 27th and Wednesday 30th of July.
The four teams will seek a place in the grand final and the Banreservas Cup, the trophy awarded by the official sponsor of the league.
