Alleged meeting of Gonzalo Castillo to finance protests in the Northern region pointed out
The Dominican political landscape has generated reactions following recent statements by communicator Manuel Rojas, who disclosed details about an alleged meeting between the presidential pre-candidate for the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Gonzalo Castillo, and various leaders of labor unions and student organizations.
According to the information released by Rojas, the meeting allegedly took place last Wednesday, September 30, at a commercial establishment located on Sarasota Avenue, in the National District. The central objective of the conclave, according to what was stated, would be to coordinate the support and financing of protest movements that are reportedly being planned to take place in different provinces of the northern region of the country.
A call for prudence and stability
In light of these accusations, the communicator made a direct appeal to the ruling party’s pre-candidate to act with caution and avoid actions that could compromise the social tranquility of the Dominican Republic.
Every citizen has the right to protest peacefully, but it is quite another thing to attempt to destabilize the economy and peace of a country.
Manuel RojasRojas emphasized the importance of maintaining public order and economic stability as fundamental pillars, dissociating the constitutional right to free demonstration from any strategy that seeks to disrupt national peace.
