Expo Cibao 2024: President Abinader highlights regional economic momentum
The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, visited the thirty-ninth edition of Expo Cibao this Saturday, held at the Central Park of Santiago. During his tour, the president highlighted the relevance of this event as a strategic epicenter for commercial development, the connection between large companies, and the strengthening of entrepreneurs throughout the northern region of the country.
Under the slogan “United for competitiveness,” the fair has managed to consolidate itself as a fundamental pillar for the regional economy. Despite the weather conditions, the head of state toured various stands, interacting with entrepreneurs, exhibitors, and visitors, learning firsthand about the innovative proposals that define this version of the exhibition.

Growth and productive dynamism
According to the data shared by the fair’s board of directors, this edition has marked a milestone in participation. Based on the figures presented, there is a 20% increase in both visitor turnout and the volume of commercial transactions carried out, an indicator that, for the leader, reflects the robust dynamism that the productive sector in the Cibao is experiencing.

Upcoming engagements in Santiago
During his speech, President Abinader announced that he will soon return to Santiago to participate in the final session of the meeting of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC). This international gathering will feature the presence of prominent figures, including the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS).
The president was accompanied by important local and national authorities, including the governor of Santiago, Rosa Santos; Senator Daniel Rivera; the mayor of Santiago, Ulises Rodríguez; the Minister of Labor, Luis Miguel De Camps, and the executive director of the Tobacco Institute (INTABACO), Iván Hernández Guzmán.
