Man captured for allegedly attempting to take his ex-partner’s life in Bayaguana
The National Police managed to capture Jesús Sosa Jiménez, who is identified as the main person responsible for assaulting his ex-partner, Nicaurys de los Santos, with a bladed weapon. The violent event took place in the El Tablón community, belonging to the municipality of Bayaguana, Monte Plata province.
Following the attack that occurred last Friday afternoon, Sosa Jiménez fled, triggering an active search in the area. It was the community residents themselves who, after a joint effort, managed to locate the suspect hiding inside a house.
Health status of the aggressor
At the time of his location, the individual was in a delicate state of health. According to preliminary reports, Sosa Jiménez had allegedly ingested a toxic substance, presumably poison, after committing the act. Upon being found, he was assisted by neighbors and handed over to police authorities.
The detainee was initially transferred to the Santo Cristo de los Milagros Hospital in Bayaguana to receive first aid and, subsequently, his transfer was arranged to the Doctor Ángel Contreras Provincial Hospital in Monte Plata, where he remains under medical supervision.
